I have a Kimber SS Target 10mm. I've shoot alot of Double Tap hot loads thru mine with no problems. Very Accurate. I picked up Chip McCormick Shooting Star magazines and they work great. The modern Kimber magazines are made by Checkmate. They are great magazines and work well in most everything. Try the magazines that came with the gun first, then buy more if they work for you. I much preferred the Kimber in 10MM, with the ramped barrel and very well supported chamber, over the Delta. Still think the Eclipse was one of the best looking 1911 type guns I ever had. But you're certainly right about people not having the best to say about Kimbers.

Remove the firing pin if you want to be extra cautious. Seat a fully loaded magazine. Depress the slide stop to allow the slide to move forward at full speed. If the cartridge chambers and the pistol goes fully into battery then the extractor is, in fact, causing the feeding malfunction.
