I was cleaning my 39AS and noticed that the firing pin does not simply come out like the firing pin does on my older 39A, there appears to be a pin that keeps it from coming out of the bolt. I like how the firing pin simply comes out of the 39A, makes cleaning it a breeze. The firing pin floats in the bolt and depending on how clean the channel is that the pin rides in it will sometimes keep the firing pin from moving freely. Check and make sure the rim of the chamber isn't dished out from excessive dry firing. Second. Make sure the firing pin and channel and spring are all clean and freely moving. Like Art said.39 timing Part of the action timing is the lever picking up the lower extension on the firing pin and sliding it rearward in the bolt. You can see this by pulling the hammer back first, and then as soon as you start to cycle the action slowly you'll see the pin come aft and extend out of the rear face of the bolt, making it ready to fire.…
