I recently inherited a 12 gauge Remington Sportsman 48 with a Poly Choke. Not sure of the gun's age, but the Poly Choke was installed in 1970. Is it safe to use with the non-toxic shot?Remington Sportsman Model 48 - 16ga. For sale is a Remington Sportsman Model 48 semi-automatic shotgun in 16ga. Serial number- 3557774. The 11-48 has a 1-72 threaded pin that can be engaged by a commonly available screw, the Dremel retaining screw for its buffing / sanding drum mandrels. Remington use to have a factory tool. I fabricated a simple screw driver style threaded tip for ease of use.The attached pictures are of my Remington Sportsman 48, 12 guage, 2 3/4 or shorter shells. It is equipped with a Cutts/Lyman Adjustable Comp. Tube. The checkering appears to be in good shape except for one small scuff spot on the bottom of the fore arm.
